Year 11 Catering Event.

As part of their GCSE controlled assessment, year 11 catering students have to cater an event. This year they chose a halloween disco for year 7 students.

The event was a huge success with staff and students dressing to scare and the year 11's serving up a wonderful themed banquet of ghoulish food.

Guests left the event full of the delicious food served up by a dedicated and hardworking team of pupils.

Well done year 11!

Year 7 Halloween Disco.

As partof their Hospitality GCSE year 11 students have had to design and cater an event. This year they have chosen a year 7 Halloween theme.

The disco will take place at the academy on Thursday 7th October from 6pm until 8pm. There will be a competition for the best fancy dress and also we are encouraging them to bring in a pre-carved pumpkin from home, again with the scariest pumpkins winning prizes.

This event will cost £3, which is payable by students on arrival.

On the 5th of October we held our first BASE (Believe, Achieve, Succeed and Enjoy) Day of this academic year. All students took part in many activities including; creating a charity event and team building tasks using spaghetti and marshmallows. Year 11 were informed about Post-16 options by Rob Deri, the schools careers advisor from Lincolnshire County Council.

BASE days are a chance for students to work within tutor, year or house groups, exploring the PSHE, Citizenship and careers curriculum. A fantastic start to the academic year, showing just how valuable these days are for the students and staff.
